The Roster

GENERAL APPROACH:

My roster currently consists of narrow gauge freight cars, one passenger car, and one locomotive.   At the end of this page are shown three locomotives in Rio Grande Southern livery that I had previously owned and subsequently sold to other modelers.  They were purchased either new from PBL (supplier of choice for Sn3 modelers) or used from other modelers, and all have DCC installed.  Almost all of my roster has had heavy weathering using Bragdon powders, and the Kadee “air hoses” have been removed for the sake of a more prototypical appearance   Photos are shown below:

Three have been recently sold, with DRGW 454 the only one remaining.   I will soon take delivery of one of the new K-36 releases by PBL (DRGW 482), making the locomotive roster consist of only two locomotives, enough for my needs.

The remainder of the rolling stock is shown below by category.   Generally, I preferred heavily weathered cars to represent rolling stock toward the end of its useful life, showing the effects of the rigors of the country through which the RGS travelled, as well as the minimal and deferred maintenance on most items due to fiscal constraints.  I also cover my mistakes that way.
